I like old signs with their weathered patina. Most modern signs just don't compare. If you ever drove down Kearney Street very much, you probably noticed this small but enduring landmark. The sign has since been removed.

57 Dreams

I have a thing about old cars, especially those like this '57 Chevy hardtop, sitting patiently, waiting to come back to life. I had a '57 way back when. I don't know where it is now, but it was one of those projects I never got around to doing. I smashed up the right rear quarter pretty bad in a wreck and quit driving it. My dad helped me get another car and eventually sold the '57 to somebody who was going to restore it. What might have been? 18x24 acrylic on canvas Original is sold.
