Herzog

Image
No, it's not the novel by Saul Bellow or the former manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, but this train car in the yards north of Commercial Street in Springfield caught my eye back in 2005. 16x20 oil on canvas.  SOLD

Fiddler's Ford Bridge

Image
The old iron bridge at Fiddler's Ford in Dade County, built in 1911, is no more. I read that it was torn down and replaced in 2015. I got a look at it for this painting in 2006. SOLD 16x20 oil on canvas.

Cabins on the Finley

Image
Over the past 40 years or so, I've painted a few pictures of Lindenlure, a scenic little spot on the Finley River southeast of Springfield. This one is from 2006. SOLD 16x20, oil on canvas

Spider lilies and cotton barn

Image
A more recent piece of work from 2015. This scene is from a plantation near Natchitoches, Louisiana. Spider lilies and a cotton barn -- it doesn't get much more southern than that. 14x18, oil on canvas Price: $125

Well-Used John Deere

Image
Another more recent offering. I like old buildings, cars, farm equipment, etc. This vintage tractor, work-worn but still in use, is an example of the latter from 2016. SOLD 16x20, acrylic on canvas

Old Stockyards

Image
The Livestock Exchange building at the one-time Union Stockyards in Springfield, from 2006. The stockyards is now a metal salvage yard. SOLD 16x20, oil on canvas

Northside Walkup

Image
In 2006, this house overlooked National Avenue in Springfield, near an underpass that went below the railroad tracks just north of Commercial Street. The house is long gone, but the underpass, of course, is still there. (The underpass is officially called the National Boulevard Subway. Those big cities got nothin' on us.) 16x20 oil on canvas Price: $150

College Street and 9th Avenue

Image
A snowy afternoon in 2006 in center-city Springfield, a few blocks west of downtown. 16x20, oil on canvas Price: $125

Tankers, Back Side of Commercial Street

Image
Commercial Street in north Springfield has gained new life in recent years with shops, restaurants, a farmers market and other businesses. But here's a view you don't see unless you look for it -- the train yards behind the buildings on the north side of the street. This view is from 2005. SOLD 16x20, oil on canvas

Blue Truck and Thrift Shop

Image
This scene from 2007 was in Marshfield, Mo., just off the town square. I don't believe the thrift shop is there anymore. Don't know about the pickup. 16x20 oil on canvas Price: $150

Car 16, San Francisco

Image
What says San Francisco better than this? A row of cable cars on the Powell and Market Street line. They don't go halfway to the stars, but close enough. 18x24, acrylic on canvas $250 I can also have high-quality paper prints made. $65 If interested, drop me an email.

Water Lilies, Nymph Lake

Image
Lilies dot the surface of Nymph Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. If you want to forget your worries, this is a good place to do it. 20x24, acrylic on canvas $295 If interested, drop me an email.
